My Story

Lead Practitioner, Rhoda

Rhoda Ferguson

I grew up on the beautiful island of Raasay, where respect for people and the natural environment - the sea, land, flora and fauna - was an integral part of everyday life. This grounding has remained central to who I am. I studied at both Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities, qualifying as a Secondary Teacher of English and later as a Primary Teacher. My career has included several rewarding years as an Additional Support Needs (ASN) teacher in Perthshire, before returning to Skye in 2019 to further develop my Gaelic language skills. I now enjoy teaching part-time in Gaelic Medium Education.

My journey into Reiki began through a dear friend who was living with Parkinson’s Disease. After receiving complimentary Reiki at a Parkinson’s Disease Society meeting, she experienced significant improvements in her tremor, her ability to relax, and her quality of sleep. The impact was so profound that, in her late 50s, she chose to receive a Reiki attunement herself, allowing her to self-treat daily and gain comfort and relief into the final months of her battle with cancer. Witnessing the gentle yet powerful effects of Reiki inspired me deeply and affirmed my belief in Reiki as a compassionate, supportive practice that works alongside life’s challenges with care, respect and integrity.

I have completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Usui Reiki Practitioner Course under the guidance of Pauline Munro of Peace of Mind Therapies, a highly experienced Reiki Master and Holistic Therapist. It is my intention to achieve my Reiki Master Level 3 in 2026.

Pauline Munro is an approved training provider with the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, and my training was undertaken in accordance with recognised professional standards in holistic healthcare.
